So, I had recently bought something from the Apple store and apparently, they have changed their system a little; instead of giving you a receipt at the end, they would email you a proof of purchase after you had purchased the item. Now, the reasoning behind that brilliant idea is because that way, it is more “environmentally friendly”. Personally, I found it a little ironic. The Apple company has diminished the whole idea of giving out receipts to prove you had purchased something because it is "not very environmentally friendly". However, they are willing to package their products with plenty of plastic and cardboard, and stuff their boxes with styrofoam insulation ‘til no end but they are not willing to sacrifice a measly little slip of paper. Sometimes, I really wonder what society has come to.
