Over reading week, I watched a movie called "30 Days of Nights". I usually enjoy movies with a little horror in them, but this movie really affected me in a different sort of way. I didn't think the movie would be so gory and graphic. There were scenes in the movie where they literally axed a person's head off, as well as other profound scenes. The movie was filmed in such recent times makes it that much more believable if something like this ever happened, although that would be a little far fetched. Even something as simple as a virus that could swipe out the entire colony, leaving only the surviving ones makes me wonder what society would do if something like that would ever happen. There several similar movies called, one that comes to mind called "The Legend" starring Will Smith; a long the same lines of a virus exterminating the entire city leaving only a number of survivors. Yes, this movie is only a fiction but it does take my imagination to the extreme, wondering what the world would do if something even remotely close to that ever happened.

This movie was great. I thought the movie poster captured the films use of graphic violence quite well.
