BLOG: SUPERBOWL ADVERTISING THEMES

(One of my favourites!)

Since the beginning, Superbowl ads have become a pop-culture ritual. Looking over this year's Superbowl Ads, the thing that came to mind first was the fact that they were all humourous; attractive women, celebrities, introduction of new products. I also noticed that a lot of the commercials were based on going to the "extreme". There were a lot of stunts and But overall, it was a huge exaggeration to reality. Because society is entertainment based, humour is the best way to go. It definitely keeps the viewer's entertained, but I did not consistent throughout the entire commercial. A lot of the comedy was not maintained through - making viewers wait until the end for the punch line.

Were the ads convincing?
Although the ads were humourous and entertaining, I personally feel that the ads did not work for me. I thought they were a little too humourous, not making it very believable. When it comes to advertisement, there are certain ads that need to be taken seriously in order for it to convince the viewer's that they are serious about what they do.
